One of the first department of PES College of Engineering, the
Mechanical Engineering department established in 1994, is a model
department having an yearly intake of sixty. There is qualified,
dedicated faculty and State-of-Art facilities.
The curriculum of
Mechanical Engineering is designed to meet current industrial
requirements and has an emphasis on industrial interaction and applied
engineering. The department is ISO 9001-2000 certified by United
Registrar of Systems, (UKAS). With
it’s 12 number of well equipped laboratories, two state-of-Art Drawing
Halls, Project Lab, Seminar Hall, Departmental Library, it occupies the
Basement, Ground and First Floor of East wing of college building.
Department has leading edge CATIA V5 R11 Design Software, Hardware and
Internet facility in CAD/CAM laboratory.
Final year students of Mechancial department had installed a 3KVA Wind-Mill
Power Generation System for college use. The staff encourages, and helps
the student in every respect in developing innovative ideas and
converting them into projects. Constantly monitored by All India Council
of Technical Education, (AICTE), Govt. of India, the department
has decided to get Accreditation by the National Board of Accreditation,
(NBA), in the nearest future.
Mechanical Engineering department cordially arranged the
multi-dimensional activities during academic year 2004-2005.
Real life manufacturing requires the continuous learning and advancement
in processes
and technology. Every new application or solution we are practicing
becomes obsolete quickly to be replaced by something better. Therefore
We, the staff of Mechanical Department are bound to constantly update
our knowledge base to be able to apply new approaches, technologies and
techniques to meet the demands of our students, industries and society.
We are bound to exert more efforts to promote industry institute
interaction, ultimately beneficial for our students and our Nation.
